Tour
description
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Trieste
at 9.30 a.m. to start an exciting day touring little
villages in the Carso hills, visiting local cheese,
olive oil and wine producers that will hospitably
open up their farms for you to sample their excellent
home-made products. From Duino Aurisina to Opicina,
there's a succession of typical Carso hamlets and
fortified villages, each with its own history, beauty
and unique characteristics that we will discover by
walking through them, following the signs along the
trails and, why not, by chatting with the locals what
will be happy to share their past and present way
of life. We'll stop in a couple of wine cellars and
experience wine tasting before stopping at an "osmizza",
a typical and informal eating place where farmers
sell their meats, cheeses and wine and where it is
possible to taste a traditional Carso menu accompanied
by Terrano wine. In the afternoon we'll visit
a couple of olive oil and cheese producers, before
returning to your hotel in the later afternoon.
