The first international golf tournament for Friulani nel
Mondo will gather together Friulians from different parts
of the world who will meet at Castello di Spessa Resorts
for a week full of fun, sports challenge, reciprocal knowledge
as well as world class food and wine.
Inspired by the beauty of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia landscape
dotted with vineyards, castles, Roman ruins, idyllic villages
and unpolluted lagoons, we have chosen to play at three
premier golf clubs that stand out as some of the most complete
and well equipped golf courses in the Triveneto area: Golf
Club Udine in the heart of Friuli, Golf Club Grado on the
sunny lagoon island and Golf and Country Club Gorizia -
Castello di Spessa in the heart of the Collio wine region.
The golf combined with soaking up the renowned Friulian
hospitality will provide many fond memories that all will
cherish for a lifetime.
LOCATIONS
Golf Club Udine
 Founded
in 1973, this splendid 18-hole golf club is situated in
Fagagna, just outside the city of Udine in marvellous surroundings.
Protected by century-old oak trees and the light shadow
of wild cherry and alder trees, it exploits at best the
natural characteristic of its undulating landscape that
also features two lakes and a stream crossing four holes.
A demanding course at an excellent technical level with
ample fairways and small greens that will put even expert
golfers to the test. The high quality of the course is surely
due to its excellent maintenance and constant improvement.
After the round, the Club House offers a pleasant and welcoming
environment with two large terraces and restaurant.
Golf Club Grado
 Sun,
sea, nature and sport. All this can be found at golf course
Grado, situated in one of the most scenic locations on the
sunny island bearing the same name. Surrounded by an amazing
natural lagoon environment, it features numerous water hazards
and rather interesting holes. Founded in 1997, the course
is technical and very pleasant for non professionals as
well. It belongs to the charming "Tenuta Primero" estate,
which includes outstanding accommodation structures, a marina
with 200 boat places and the refined "Casone" restaurant
/ Club House, widely renowned for its excellent cuisine
and whose architecture reminds you of typical local fishermen
huts.
Golf and Country Club Gorizia - Castello di Spessa
 Golf
and Country Club Gorizia - Castello di Spessa is a new 18-hole
golf course located in Capriva del Friuli, Gorizia, in a
spectacular setting that offers magnificent views over the
surrounding Collio hills covered with vineyards and cypress
trees which also make up the obstacles that the golfer comes
up against. Extending over a 5,850-metre track with a total
par of 71, the course was designed by the famous golf architect
Giacomo Cabrini who really highlighted the natural beauty
of the place without damaging it. The route involves special
difficulties to make it a challenge for expert players,
but it is still very enjoyable and practicable for any level
of player. The decidedly mild climate offers the possibility
of playing all year round.
ACCOMMODATION
Castello di Spessa Resorts welcome guests from all over
the world in splendid surroundings. Guests can choose among
first-class accommodation at Castello di Spessa, warm hospitality
at Tavernetta al Castello or pleasant farm stays at La Boatina.
 Time
spent at Castello di Spessa is a dream-like experience.
It is a charming 13th century manor with 9 spacious suites,
elegantly furnished with 18th century style furniture, that
overlook the garden, the park, the golf course and the gentle
slopes of the Collio hills. The estate on which the castle
was built also houses a renowned winery producing prized
D.O.C. red and white wines and an excellent grappa. The
aging cellars, which can be reached by descending seventy
steps underground the castle, were a former military bunker.
They were built at the end of the 30's and used during the
Second World War as a bomb shelter. They cross the heart
of the castle from east to west and they are the pride of
the resort.
Tavernetta al Castello is a charming inn located at
the foot of the little hill dominated by Castello di Spessa.
The Inn, entirely rebuilt on the site of the castle's old
tavern, hosts a refined restaurant on the ground floor and
ten enchanting suites with private bathroom (some with jacuzzi
shower or bath), air conditioning, phone, minibar, hair
dryer, satellite TV, on the first floor. All adorned with
elegant tapestries and furnishings, they offer delightful
views of a breathtaking landscape.
 La
Boatina belongs to Castello di Spessa resorts and shares
the group's philosophy to provide a pleasant stay in a relaxing
environment. Located only 3 kilometres from the castle,
La Boatina is both the name of the wine farm producing excellent
wines and the name of the Mediterranean style villa adjacent
to the farm that offers accommodation in five bedrooms,
all with ensuite bathrooms and refined furnishings in local
farmhouse style.
