Since our establishment in 2000, DISCOVER FRIULI has grown to provide a different, and in our opinion better, style of touring.

Our experience indicated that many people preferred the more personal service of a smaller group size where they could actually relate to the driver/tour guide and fellow travellers. So with service in mind, we turned away from crowded tours and focused on individual visitors and small groups that allow exclusive sightseeing, a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a more personalised service.

All of our tours are carefully planned and coordinated by Sonia Cos, owner of Mitteltur and director of DISCOVER FRIULI. Born and raised in Friuli, she is a licensed tour guide and an enthusiast for her region. She wants visitors to see the best of it so she enjoys planning itineraries that include history, art, culture and nature, as well as delicious local cuisine and superb wines.

She has personally visited and selected the destinations, hotels and services offered in order to provide the best solutions in terms of comfort, charm, efficiency, and interesting activities. Thanks to her graduate studies in languages and numerous stays abroad (mainly in the USA, England and Australia), she speaks perfect English, fluent French and Spanish. Being also a licensed tour guide for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, she guides the tours personally or in collaboration with multi-lingual, experienced, friendly tour guides to ensure that every detail is taken care of and that the clients expectations are exceeded.

All of our tours are conducted by luxury air-conditioned private car or mini-bus and are available in English, German, French, Spanish. Tours in other languages are also available upon request.
